Ruth Hamilton, MA Ed., Expressive Arts Counselor, workshop
leader and jewelry designer, guides you in the exploration of the
healing arts. Expressive Arts for Healing is the practice of integrating
imagery, visual arts, dance, music, sound, humor, and poetry to foster
human growth and to transform stress-producing emotions. Ruth’s
jewelry is an out-growth of her love of gems and precious metals and
her artistic expiration.
Ruth Hamilton is a certified Expressive Arts for Healing counselor.
Her training was received at the Expressive Arts Institute, Salve
Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. She is also a certified
Technology for Creating facilitator. Ruth studied curative water coloring
at Rudolph Steiner University, Sacramento, CA. In 2005, Ruth conducted
the Expressive Arts Camp: Earth, Fire, Wind, and Rain for patients
in the Cancer Clinic at UNC. In 2005, she also was an Expressive Arts
therapist for the NC Children’s Hospital.
Ruth lives near the village of Magdalena, NM from Nov.- April and
enjoys creating jewelry, offering expressive arts sessions, and hiking.
She especially enjoys collecting gems and rocks on her hikes. Ruth’s
jewelry is offered at the Magdalena Arts Gallery in Magdalena. May
through October, Ruth is in North Carolina.
While in New Mexico, Ruth offers expressive arts session for clients.
Clients from Socorro, Magdalena, Datil, and surrounding areas can
schedule a session which can assist in healing from grief and painful
life changes. Expressive arts is also helpful for career change and
personal goal setting. Each session involves visual arts, movement,
and sound healing. The sessions are held at the Magdalena Arts Gallery.

The healing art of humor is another of Ruth’s specialties. In
1986, she founded Carolina Health & Humor Assoc. which has assisted
medical centers across America to implement Healing Humor programs.
Ruth’s Laugh Mobile humor library can be seen at www.CarolinaHAHA.org.
Laughter and creative humor using improvisation is woven into the
empowering Expressive Arts sessions.
You can explore humor and its use for professional presentations
by taking the Certified Humor Presenter E-course. In studying the
humor and style of various comics and humor writers, you will hone
in on your humor skills. You will also discover how to customize humor
to specific audiences. Upon completion of a humor related project
and audience presentation, you will receive your Certified Humor Presenter
Certificate, endorsed by Carolina Health & Humor Association.

Visual imagery as seen in the logo for the No OLF t-shirt
is a powerful way to influence public and political opinion. Ruth
Hamilton's sons Ethan and Brendan Wenberg designed the t-shirt.
