Technology for CreatingAnother tool for creating change that Ruth Hamilton facilitates is Technologies for Creating. Through a model for strategic steps leading to an end result, Ruth Hamilton will help you map out a plan that utilizes the talents of both the right and left brain hemispheres. The right brain sees the whole picture and is the sight of visual memories. The left brain is more analytical and is best at detail and sequential work. When actions are taken that satisfies the unique talents of each brain hemisphere, you progress unhindered through the creating process. Your vision of a recognizable, measurable, and describable project is manifest. Ruth integrates the Expressive Arts into this project to help you enjoy the creating process and to use the arts to propel your energy and your consistency. One of Ruth’s clients used Technologies for Creating to design the path to her new book. She was surprised to find that the draft of the book coincides with her planned retirement. With a plan for the upcoming year that satisfies the needs of both brain hemispheres, this client looks forward to the task of writing her next book.
The Power of Setting IntentionExpressive Arts is a tool for implementing career, location, or behavior changes in your life. During an Expressive Arts session, a verbal intention is written and visual images are drawn, heard, or felt that often express soul wisdom. Transitions are difficult and are often a cause of stress. One recent college graduate was uncertain where his skills as an environmental engineer could be best utilized. After writing his intention, he closed his eyes, accessed inner images of pack animals, and heard wolf howling. The next day, he found an internet listing for an environmental engineer to assist in a Southwest wolf preserve. The young graduate applied and was accepted into this position. As a result, he felt he had started his career with the best position for him.Sometimes it is difficult for “baby boomers” or other middle-agers
to recognize their talents and to initiate career change. In an Expressive
Arts session, you can explore which of several choices are in sink with
your body. Through storytelling and movement, you can explore career and
personal time choices that are true to your nature and stage of life.
One non-profit director, age 59, was told that working out extensively
with weights might improve her bone desnity. Through intention setting,
imagery and the visual arts, she found that she could combine a healing
mantra with the weights workout. She received good physical results in
a shorter time. She also got an insight to have an osteo-yoga class created
so she could work out with friends. Through diet, supplements, exercise,
and expressive arts, she feels better and is empowered to try new work-out
strategies. Mandala by Ethan Wenberg |
